Learning with Seed2Design
The Art of Floristry.
Whether you're taking your very first steps into floristry or have years of experience behind you, Dee can help you achieve your creative goals. Beginners build a strong foundation by learning traditional floristry techniques alongside contemporary and vegetative design, developing the skills, confidence and understanding to create beautiful, balanced arrangements while learning not just how to design, but why great design works.
For experienced florists, Dee offers the opportunity to refresh existing skills, embrace more sustainable methods and transition towards a natural, contemporary style. Drawing on almost four decades of industry experience, she helps florists move beyond conventional designs by introducing natural structures, thoughtful mechanics and the principles of vegetative design. Whether you're looking to update your style, rediscover your creativity or gain a deeper understanding of design, Dee provides the knowledge, encouragement and inspiration to help you develop a distinctive approach that reflects both technical excellence and a genuine connection with nature.
A Lifetime Perfecting the Creative Craft.
Dee, Cert Ed, HDF, has spent nearly forty years perfecting the art of floristry, combining traditional craftsmanship with a deep respect for nature, design and sustainability. Beginning as a trainee florist at just fifteen, she progressed from managing florists and running successful businesses to discovering her true passion for teaching, inspiring thousands of students through colleges, workshops and online learning.
Founding Seed2Design transformed her approach. Time spent developing a cutting garden and observing how plants naturally grow became the inspiration for the contemporary vegetative style she now teaches. Her work has included prestigious projects at Hampton Court Flower Show, Chelsea Flower Show, Mottisfont National Trust and Chichester Cathedral, alongside championing sustainable floristry and environmentally responsible techniques.
Dee's philosophy is simple: understand the plant before designing with it. She believes beautiful floristry comes not from using more flowers, but from using them with greater skill, purpose and respect for the natural world.

At Seed2Design, we believe beautiful floristry should never come at the expense of the environment. Our sustainable approach embraces biodegradable mechanics, renewable floral foam where appropriate, and a commitment to eliminating single-use plastics wherever possible.
Our teaching is built on the timeless elements and principles of design, with a strong focus on colour, space, line, form and texture. Rather than relying on large quantities of flowers arranged into rigid, unnatural shapes, we encourage every stem to express its own character and natural movement.
Learn how to create natural structures and frameworks that allow flowers to sit in perfect harmony and balance, rather than being forced into place. By working with the natural proportions of 3:5:8, you'll discover how to create elegant, contemporary designs that feel organic, effortless and visually balanced. Inspired by the way plants grow in the wild, you'll learn to design with nature rather than against it, celebrating the individuality of every stem while using thoughtful mechanics that are kinder to the planet.
Whether you're beginning your floristry journey or looking to transform the way you design, Seed2Design will help you build the confidence, creativity and technical skills to create flowers that are beautiful, meaningful and inspired by nature.
Because true floristry isn't about using more flowers. It's about understanding them.
Our Mission.
At Seed2Design, our mission is to inspire a new generation of florists by combining creativity, technical excellence and environmental responsibility. We are committed to continually exploring and developing innovative ideas for sustainable floristry, while providing outstanding teaching in a supportive, welcoming and inspiring environment.
Everything we do is guided by four simple principles:
- To experiment, innovate and develop sustainable floristry design.
- To deliver outstanding teaching and learning that inspires creativity and confidence.
- To offer ongoing support, encouragement and a genuine sense of community.
- To champion environmentally responsible practices by using eco-friendly materials and sustainable mechanics wherever possible.
Our aim is not only to teach people how to arrange flowers, but to help them understand nature, develop their own creative voice and create beautiful floristry that is kind to both people and the planet.
