Our services consist of: Workshops, Courses, Floristry and/or Business Consultation and Bespoke Sympathy Designs. Our shop ‘Rose Barn’- by appointment on Mondays, Wednesdays, Thursdays or Fridays or on attendance of a workshop or course. We sell oasis, wires, tapes, glue etc, the tools of the trade, glassware, wooden items and unusual sundries at very competitive prices.

We work from our light and airy classroom which overlooks our Cutting Garden.
The team comprises of business partners Alison Hoad HDF and Dee Watkins Cert Ed, HDF and volunteers Patrick and Liz.

Expert tuition by Dee Watkins HDF, Cert Ed who has been teaching Floristry in Further Education Colleges for 8 years and Alison Hoad HDF who has studied floristry intensively since 2009.

We think Floristry is the best job in the world! Being able to work with such beautiful flowers and foliage’s. As a florist you could work from home specialising in weddings, events, corporate work, sympathy or gift designs. You could own a floristry business, work abroad, demonstrate, judge or teach.

Consultation and Mentoring.

We charge hourly at very reasonable rates. You may come to us with a specific topic to discuss or choose from the list below:

  • An Introduction to floristry, basic foundation.
  • Conditioning flowers and associated problems.
  • Hand tied designs traditional and/or contemporary.
  • Sympathy designs to include woodland burials.
  • Wedding designs traditional and/or contemporary.
  • Arrangements traditional and/or contemporary.
  • European designs which includes the study of the design schema.
  • The study of the elements and principles of design.
  • Business to include:Business objectives, Trouble shooting, Business SWOT analysis, Problem solving, USP, re-branding, technical updating, purchasing with access to web shop in Holland, customer service, staffing, Health and Safety, Legislation, IT software, Increase bottom line, Portfolio building, Costings, etc.

Our Garden…

Alison manages the large cutting garden which provides a sight for sore eyes when in full bloom. Selecting florist’s favourites including Narcissi, Tulipa, Allium, Liatris, Antirrhinum. Sweet peas, Achillea, Scabiosa, Eryngium, Sunflowers to name but a few. We grow our flowers from seed in our poly tunnels with the help of our volunteer gardeners Patrick and Liz. The organic British flowers work beautifully for our classes and are for sale. Please email for availability and selection.
